The ever popular jersey exchange is back…sort of.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Football League told players they would not be allowing jersey exchanges on the field as seen in past years in an effort to stop the spread of the deadly virus and causing the season to be suspended as we saw in the NBA.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Monday that jersey exchanges will be back for the 2020 season, but with a twist.
The league informed teams on Monday that it is partnering Tide Laundry Detergent and Fabric Care Products and they will cover the cost of one replacement jersey per player who can exchange a jersey after it has been washed.
Also, the jersey will be mailed off.
On-field exchanges are still prohibited and subject to team discipline.
