NFL fans are going off on the league for filing a lawsuit against the NFLPA which alleges the union of advising running backs to fake injuries.
News of the league’s lawsuit came out on Monday, with Mark Maske of The Washington Post first reporting the development. Just hours later, Cleveland Browns’ superstar running back Nick Chubb suffered a horrific season-ending knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chubb’s injury was so gruesome that ABC refused to show the replay where he got hurt following a tackle by Pittsburgh safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. The timing of the NFL’s lawsuit against the union couldn’t of come at a worse time, and fans proceeded to voice their displeasure with the league:

One of the top storylines this past NFL offseason was the fact that plenty of big-named running backs weren’t able to land multi-year deals. Saquon Barkley (New York Giants), 2022 rushing champion Josh Jacobs (Las Vegas Raiders) and Tony Pollard (Dallas Cowboys) were all assigned the franchise tag, and neither wound up signing long-term extensions.
Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts, in his contract year, requested a trade after owner Jim Irsay made it clear that an extension wasn’t in the cards. Los Angeles Chargers’ star Austin Ekeler also sought a trade due to unhappiness with his contract situation, but the Bolts ultimately agreed to add incentives to his deal for 2023.
