J.J. Watt is no longer under any obligation to get tested by the NFL. But somebody should tell the league.
The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year retired at the end of the season and seems to be at peace with his decision. He also has a baby boy to keep him occupied now.
Watt no longer has to worry about grueling preparations for the next NFL season and he certainly doesn’t have to concern himself with another NFL drug test. However, the league office might have forgotten Watt’s left the game and has him scheduled for a test on the back of the season shutting down two Sundays ago.
The former defensive end received a message from the NFL this week asking him to take a test.
“This is Dillon on behalf of the NFL,” a text read. “You have been selected for a hgh dry blood spot test, please give me a call or shoot me a text when you can. Thank you.”
Watt posted a screenshot to Twitter along with the caption: “I don’t know what happens when you click ‘Report Junk’ but I think I’m about to find out.”

Watt received a similar message after playing in a loss to the Denver Broncos in December.
“I think I’ve been ‘randomly selected’ after every 3 sack game of my career,” he tweeted after the request.
This time around, he isn’t under obligation.
Who knows, maybe Dillon meant to send the message to his brother Derek, who is still an active player for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
