Free-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is still up for grabs in the market, and it appears he might be headed to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 6’5″, 266-pound player had an asking price of $22 million, but no teams during the offseason came close to that number, so he had to drop it considereably to around $17 million a season.
Speaking on The Sports Bash, NFL insider John Clayton from 710 ESPN shared his updates regarding Clowney’s situation:
“He’s going to be interested in Philadelphia because one of the things and one of the reasons he turned down Cleveland is because he wants to go to a winning team,” Clayton explained.
“He turned down Miami twice because he didn’t expect them to be a winning team.”
Clayton also added that Clowney might take a deal in the $9-10 million range to play.
If that wasn’t proof enough that Clowney might be headed to the Eagles — Brian Baldinger reported that Philly will be expected to make some noise this week.
