During the 2018 season, Jared Goff got rid of all the naysayers who had plenty to say about his performance on the field during his time with Jeff Fisher as his head coach.
Goff racked up 4,688 yards with 32 touchdowns 12 interceptions, and led his squad to the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. The season didn’t end the way he wanted it to, but he showed he can play QB in this league for years to come.
Goff’s rookie contract is ever so close to being over and many experts fully expect the team to re-sign him before that happens.
Well, according to NFL insider Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, he blew down the doors on that theory when he stated on the Dan Patrick Show that he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if the Rams did not re-sign Golf at all.
That would be shocking for a team to part ways for a QB who has clearly shown he can handle the load and deliver when needed. But, him being able to play the position and giving him upwards of $30 million a year to do so is a huge commitment that not many teams would want to do unless they were 100% sure they had their guy for years to come.
