It has been nearly two weeks since Tom Brady announced that he was coming out of retirement to return to the Buccaneers. And yet, the rumors have not stopped.
A Boston sports insider with a history of bombshell scoops dropped some crazy news on Thursday, as broadcaster and reporter Dale E. Arnold tweeted out that he “would not be surprised” if Brady played somewhere other than Tampa next season. He then hinted at the possibility of Brady in a Dolphins jersey by saying, “try a little further south.”
Arnold later told WEEI’s Merloni & Fauria that the parties were “working on it,” referring to a deal between the Bucs and Fins for Brady. The two then shared that news with their listeners on air, saying that Brady and Miami were “working on [a deal] to bring him to Miami ahead of the 2022 season.”
According to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, who’s a prominent NFL insider, absolutely nothing is going on regarding Brady and the Dolphins.
Howe points out that Brady’s already been recruiting other players to play in Tampa next season (like Ryan Jensen, Chris Godwin, and Russell Gage). It’s highly unlikely that he’d be telling these guys to sign with the Bucs if he had not intentions of sticking around himself.
