Soon after news broke about the mega extension that the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes agreed to, Deshaun Watson’s name came up soon after.
Texans linebacker Dylan Cole shared the terms of Mahomes’ deal to him on Twitter and Watson’s reaction was priceless.
NFL insider Josina Anderson would soon provide an update as she stated that there have been “no serious talks yet” between the Texans and QB Deshaun Watson regarding a long-term contract extension.
According to Anderson, Watson is not in a hurry to get a deal done.
Watson was taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Texans and signed a four-year, $13.854 million with the Texans. The franchise picked up Watson’s fifth-year option a few weeks ago worth around $17.3 million for the 2021 season.
