Earlier this week, Derek Carr endorsed the Raiders giving Colin Kaepernick a workout at the team facility. The current Vegas quarterback said, “I think he’d be great” in the locker room, should the team sign him.
But, will it actually happen? On Friday, NFL insider Josina Anderson provided the latest on this potential pairing.
“Also regarding Colin Kaepernick’s post workout status in Las Vegas, my understanding is a possible future for Kaep as a Raider is not necessarily off the table, but at the same time not at the mesh point of definitively happening either,” Anderson reported on Friday. “Either way, no timetable on a decision.”
Two other teams are believed to have shown some interest in Kaepernick this offseason, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio offers.
Prior to the Raiders’ invite, Kaepernick had not been a fixture on the NFL’s radar in years.
Kaepernick is obviously short on time to make an NFL comeback. He was essentially exiled from the league after his protests of racial injustice during the national anthem created one of the biggest controversies in NFL history.
