The San Francisco 49ers are one of the most talked about teams heading into the 2021 NFL Draft and that has to do with so many conflicting reports about what they will do with the No. 3 pick.
Late last month, the San Francisco 49ers made a draft splash when they traded up from the 12th overall pick to the third overall in a deal with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins then traded the No. 12 pick and a 2022 first-rounder to the Eagles for the sixth-overall selection.
Many saw that move as the 49ers getting ready to say goodbye to QB Jimmy Garoppolo and hello to a QB like…say…Justin Fields. One NFL insider insists he knows what they are not going to do, and it won’t be taking the former Ohio State Buckeyes QB.
Michael Lombardi addressed those rumors on SiriusXM’s “The Rap with Patrick Meagher.”
“Justin Fields is not gonna go No. 3. That’s what I’ve heard,” Lombardi said. “I love the people on Twitter who are like weathermen. Seriously, where are you getting your information? You’ve got better sources than me? Good luck. I’m just telling you — if it’s not Mac Jones, it’s Trey Lance.”
Trevor Lawrence is set to go No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jags, while many have the New York Jets taking QB Zach Wilson out of BYU with the second pick.

The 49ers are expected to take a QB, but it remains a mystery as to who they like out of Fields, Mac Jones, or Trey Lance.
