Teddy Bridgewater had a very impressive showing during the 2019 season when Drew Brees went down, but he is likely to make his exit from the team in free agency. That could possibly lead him to have a starting job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“I am hearing Tampa Bay is hot on Bridgewater,” a general manager told Mike Sando of The Athletic.
Jameis Winston was the starting QB 16 games for the Buccaneers last season, but he is also set to hit free agency and his future with the franchise remains uncertain.
Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards in 2019, but his 30 interceptions were a huge problem to the team all season long.
Bridgewater could be a solid replacement, as he finished the year with 1,384 passing yards and nine touchdowns.
Teddy is likely to succeed in an offense that bolsters an elite receiving corps that features Pro Bowlers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Not to mention, the team is being led by head coach Bruce Arians.
