The NFL has handed down a massive fine to Philadelphia Eagles head of security Dom DiSandro (also known as “Big Dom” for his altercation with Dre Greenlaw of the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 3.
Per Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press, “Big Dom” tried appealing a $100,000 fine the league handed him for the confrontation with Greenlaw. The league denied the appeal, however, meaning he’ll have to pay the six-figure punishment.
As part of his punishment, DiSandro was also suspended for the remainder of the regular season. He will be eligible to return for the Eagles’ first postseason game, which will take place at some point in mid-January.
The confrontation between Greenlaw and “Big Dom” took place in the third quarter of the Eagles-49ers Week 13 contest at Lincoln Financial Field. Greenlaw and DiSandro were both ejected for their actions.
The 49ers went on to soundly defeat the reigning NFC Champions by a final score of 42-19. It was a nice piece of revenge for a 49ers team that lost to Philly at Lincoln Financial Field in last season’s NFC Championship Game.
