The NFL Competition Committee will discuss whether or not to make roughing the passer penalties reviewable, but things aren’t looking real good right now.
According to Pro Football Talk, the league is reviewing its policies, but it’s unlikely to change anything after they already reviewed a number of calls from this past season.
“The Competition Committee has reviewed 80 roughing calls from 2022 and found only three that were “questionable.” The message is unmistakable — nothing about that rule is changing for 2023, because the league is obsessed with protecting QBs.”

The competition committee couldn’t even admit that some calls were flat-out wrong and that is more than enough to let you know that they will change nothing for the upcoming season nor any other season moving forward.
There are multiple plays where a flag shouldn’t have been thrown and plays where flags should’ve been thrown. The discrepancy in both is what drives fans up the wall.
