Leonard Fournette reportedly isn’t in great standing with Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaches after adding some weight over the offseason.
Fournette, who signed a three-year, $21 million extension with Tampa Bay in March, continues to be listed on the Buccaneers roster at 228 pounds. However, NFL reporter Rick Stroud hinted at Fournette’s significant weight gain on his “Sports Day Tampa Bay” podcast.
“The thing about Leonard Fournette is he became a three-down back. Now, the last time we saw Leonard Fournette he was about a donut shy of 260. Let’s see what he’s done in the five weeks since then,” Stroud said. “He certainly didn’t look like a guy who could play every down when we saw him.”
Fans have been roasting him ever since that news came out, and the latest is coming from an old tweet. Somebody found a tweet from a few years ago when Fournette said he was giving Ezekiel Elliott a treadmill for his birthday and then called him a ‘fat ass.’

Fournette rushed for 812 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 69 receptions for 454 yards and two scores last season.
The Bucs drafted Arizona State running back Rachaad White in the third round of April’s draft, but he’s expected to play more of a third-down role next season. If Fournette can’t get his weight down, then he might see an even bigger role.
