NFL fans had a lot to say following Bruce Arians’ comments on Tom Brady’s struggles through a difficult 2022 NFL experience.
Arians, who coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2019 to 2021, resigned from the role and handed the duties over to his longtime defensive coordinator in Todd Bowles. Arians then moved into a consultant role for the Bucs’ organization.
In the midst of the 2022 season, Brady and Gisele Bündchen announced that they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage. Throw in injuries to key players, and it was simply a difficult year all-around for Brady in his final NFL season.
The Super Bowl 55-winning head coach made headlines when he recently commented on Brady’s personal issues, suggesting that they played a role in the Bucs’ struggles throughout the 2022 campaign:
“Tom wasn’t himself, you know, with all the things that were going on. And I got to give him all the credit in the world for battling through what he went through last year for his teammates. I think the world of him but it wasn’t the real Tom Brady out there…The injuries to our leaders was really, really hard.”
