All-Pro offensive tackle Trent Williams is being talked about heavily on social media this week for possibly tipping plays during games.
Twitter user Jessie (JNay_LSS) took to Twitter and posted two pictures that seemingly show Williams giving the defense an edge all because of where he places his left foot before the ball is snapped. Jessie added that he went through all the offensive plays for the 49ers and accurately predicted what San Fran was doing on offense based on what Williams was doing with his feet.
FOX Sports’ Emmanuel Acho saw that same post and made a video to show that even though Williams might be tipping plays, it ultimately does not matter in the grand scheme of things.
On Sunday, it did not matter much as the 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 22-16 as Jimmy Garoppolo completed 19 of his 28 pass attempts for 240 yards and rushed five times for three yards and one touchdown in San Francisco’s Week 10 win. The 49ers improved to 8-8 overall against the Los Angeles Chargers, including a 4-3 mark at home.

As far as the run game goes, the 49ers offense finished with 41 rushing attempts for 157 yards and two touchdowns on the night. Clearly, the tipped plays did not help the defense stop anything.
The San Francisco 49ers will travel internationally this week to face the NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, live from Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. This matchup is one of five NFL games to be played internationally this season.
