At one point during his career, Ezekiel Elliott was easily one of the better running backs in the entire league.
Those days changed fairly quickly as soon as the Dallas Cowboys gave him a huge deal. The team released him from the roster and things have not been going well in free agency.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter created a stir when the NFL insider reported that Elliott had narrowed down his next destination to the Jets, Bengals, and Eagles. All three teams have either publicly or via insiders shot down the rumors.
According to a report, the former No. 4 overall NFL Draft pick is getting upset by how long it’s taking to sign with a new team.

Elliott is only 27 still but that’s still on the old side for a running back. It doesn’t help that Elliott has a ton of tread on his tires and has looked like he’s lost his once-trademark explosiveness over the past couple of seasons.
Publicly, the Cowboys have left the door open for Elliott to return to the team given his current free-agent status. The team has made several moves at the position since his departure, so if he were to return, his workload would not be anywhere like it was in previous years.
In 2022, Elliott appeared in 15 games for the Cowboys and rushed for 876 yards on 231 carries (3.8 YPC) and 12 touchdowns.
