NFL fans can’t believe how much money league commissioner Roger Goodell has made in his near two-decade-run at the helm.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Goodell was close to receiving an extension that would keep him in his current role through March 2027. This isn’t awfully surprising as the 64-year-old is highly popular and well-regarded among league owners.
As noted by David Rumsey of Front Office Sports, it’s believed that Goodell has made north of $500 million as the NFL commissioner. Goodell took over the role in 2006 following the retirement of Paul Tagliabue.
Rumsey noted that Goodell reportedly made $6.5 million in his first year as the NFL commissioner. Now? His salary is reportedly close to $64 million.
As one could guess, NFL fans had a lot to say on the report about Goodell’s salary and earnings as the head of the NFL to date.
