NFL fans had a lot to say after USA Today’s annual 2023 regular season record predictions resurfaced on social media.

USA Today certainly missed on the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets. Then again, who really thought the Colts would finish 2023 with a winning record, especially with rookie phenom QB Anthony Richardson missing all but four games?
Regarding the Jets, nobody could have just assumed that Aaron Rodgers would suffer a season-ending injury minutes into his debut with the club in Week 1. Otherwise, the Jets very well might have been a 12-win team.
In USA Today’s credit, they sure look good with predictions for the entire NFC North, and for playoff teams/contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins.
USA Today has gotten at least four playoff teams in the NFC correct, and they’ll likely have gotten five correct in the AFC, should the Jaguars and Buffalo Bills take care of business and lock down playoff berths on Sunday.
As always, the NFL regular season was full of surprise teams and disappointments. 2023 was just another reminder of how awfully difficult it is to predict this league.
