On Thursday, the NFL announced a wide-ranging television contract that will now includes games on all four major U.S. television networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX), plus ESPN, Amazon and NFL Network.
John Ourand and Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal reported the rights deals are worth $10 billion annually and $110 billion over the course of the agreement.
One of the biggest announcements is Amazon Prime Video will be the new exclusive home of Thursday Night Football beginning in 2023. Amazon will represent the league’s first all-digital package.
It was an announcement that made a bunch of people upset because they would be forced to buy Amazon Prime in order to watch the game.
