Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks came down hard and appeared to hit his head during the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 23-year-old was carted off the field as the crowd in Pittsburgh cheered when it appeared he had his thumb raised.
The second-year receiver had to have his facemask removed from his helmet prior to him being strapped onto a board and then carted off.
After the game, head coach Mike Vrabel provided an update on his receiver’s health.
“I would say the way it looked – I think that it’s probably better than how it looked,” Vrabel said, adding that he hopes to have more of an update on Friday. “So he’s alert and is in the training room getting evaluated.”
He added that the wideout was not transported to the hospital and later walked out of the locker room under his own power.
Fans were deep in prayer for him:

Burks was selected by the Titans in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After a promising rookie season, he missed time this year due to a knee injury sustained during training camp. Prior to leaving Thursday’s game, Burks caught one pass for 5 yards in the Titans’ 20-16 loss.
The Titans fell to 3-5 on the year and remain in last place in the AFC South. The Steelers, on the other hand, went to 5-3 to keep pace with the 6-2 Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.
