With Mike Vrabel out in Tennessee, and star running back Derrick Henry expected to follow, fans are quickly proposing an intriguing destination for the pair.
In a surprise move, the Titans fired the 2021 NFL Coach of the Year on Tuesday. Henry’s contract expires after the season, and the Titans aren’t expected to re-sign the 30-year-old and two-time rushing champion.
With Vrabel now a free agent, social media detectives came together to suggest a reunion between the 48-year-old and Henry in New England.

Before Vrabel’s firing, there was speculation that Patriots owner Robert Kraft would eye him as a replacement to Bill Belichick. The Patriots finished 4-13 this season, and many expect Kraft and the legendary head coach to formally “part ways” in the coming days.
If the Patriots do move on from Belichick, it would make perfect sense for Kraft to bring in Vrabel as his successor. Vrabel played for the Patriots from 2001 to 2007 and was a key cog in the franchise’s first three Super Bowl championship-winning seasons.
Vrabel turned a longtime losing Titans franchise into a playoff contender, leading them to four straight winning seasons from 2018 to 2021. They reached the 2019 AFC Championship Game and won back-to-back AFC South division titles in 2020 and 2021.
Despite his age, Henry showed no signs of slowing down in 2023 by rushing for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. Only Christian McCaffrey (San Francisco 49ers) had more rushing yards than King Henry (1,459).
