Tua Tagovailoa did not have much to say about his former head coach. The Dolphins fired Brian Flores, who filed suit against them, and they hired Mike McDaniel.
The team’s starting quarterback was elated in his praise of McDaniel, calling him “cool.” Tagovailoa had less to say about Flores, which spoke volumes.
“The big question,” Tagovailoa said when asked about Flores, via Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post.
He paused before continuing, “Well, I’ll tell you this: I’m very thankful that he drafted me to come here to play for the Miami Dolphins. That’s what I’d say.”

Reporters also wanted to know if he was shocked or relieved by Flores’ firing.
“I would say I have no comment towards any of that,” Tagovailoa said. “Just because I don’t come up with those decisions.”
While Tua did not say much about Flores, social media could definitely read between the lines.
Tua Tagovailoa was a first-round pick (fifth overall) by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL draft. Last season, Tua passed for 2,653 yards, 16 touchdowns, and had ten interceptions.
Now, the Alabama alumni is going into his third year in the NFL with the Dolphins. 2023 will mark the last year of his rookie contract unless the team picks up his fifth-year option.
His chances of getting a bigger contract increased after the team went out during the offseason and improved the squad with help coming from receiver Tyreek Hill, running back Raheem Mostert, and tackle Terron Armstead.
