Colin Kaepernick has been working out with NFL players and it appears in this offseason, more so than any previous offseason, he might get his chance to come back into the National Football League.
According to football trainer David Robinson, “at least five” different teams have reached out to him about the former 49ers quarterback after seeing his workout.
He told TMZ Sports:
“A few teams have reached out to me and asked how his arm looked … They have reached out and asked about him. He definitely has the ability to play on somebody’s roster — like, right now.
Like, a couple of the guys that were in the session that were on NFL teams were saying that his arm is just as strong as guys’ that we got on our roster right now and can play.”
Kaepernick, who last played in the NFL on January 1, 2017, has been working out in various places over the past few weeks.
“[Kaepernick] definitely has the ability to play on somebody’s roster,” Robinson told TMZ.com. “Like, a couple of the guys that were in the session that were on NFL teams were saying that his arm is just as strong as guys that we got on our roster right now and can play.”

Kaepernick is still trying to get back in the NFL after being blackballed for his social justice activism, which featured kneeling during the national anthem.
Any team can bring Kaepernick in for a workout, but over the past five years, no one has done it. The reason is either because of fan backlash or they just don’t want to deal with the media frenzy it would cause.
Five teams reaching out is one thing, but taking that next step and actually signing him is a whole different conversation.
Now in 2022, the 34-year-old Kaepernick still isn’t giving up on playing again.
