We’re three days away from the highly-anticipated AFC Championship showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, but some fans are already calling the game “rigged” in favor of the visitors.
Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are set to meet in the postseason for the very first time, with the Chiefs eyeing to win their fourth AFC Championship banner in just five years. As for the Ravens, they’ll aim to reach their first Super Bowl in 11 years.
Earlier this week, the NFL announced that Shawn Smith will be the head official for the AFC title game at M&T Bank Stadium. NFL analyst Warren Sharp noted that over the last three years, the home team has only won 40.8 percent of games officiated by Smith.
Sharp’s analysis here led to a plethora of calls that the AFC Championship Game has already been rigged in favor of the Chiefs.

Sharp added that over the last three years, the home team has won 55.4 percent of games.
But for those who think Smith’s crew will favor the Chiefs, keep in mind that he was the head referee for Kansas City’s Week 11 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles as well as their Week 3, 2022 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The winner of Sunday’s contest will face the victor of the Detroit Lions-San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game in Super Bowl 58, set for Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium.
