Adam Schefter is a respected NFL insider and he’s usually a very serious chap. But the ESPN reporter flaunted his prowess as a prankster during Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take on Friday night – though, to be fair, it’s pretty easy to fool everyone once you develop a reputation for breaking accurate stories.
While on the podcast, Schefter pretended to receive a scoop from a source claiming Lamar Jackson would be traded to the Washington Commanders before morning.
This caused a stir in the studio and Twitter went wild, especially as the Commanders hadn’t been named among the teams in the mix for the Baltimore Ravens quarterback. Still, it was easy to believe because a) it came from Schefter, and b) Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens aren’t on great terms.
Eric Sollenberger, a co-host and Commanders fan tried to stop himself from believing Schefter’s fake information was legitimate, but you could tell he was wishing the ESPN insider might be telling the truth.
