Football fans are wondering whether the NFL will cut ties with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter following a bombshell civil suit.
The league recently extended its deal with the rapper’s Roc Nation, which has been in charge of the Super Bowl halftime show since 2020. But the company’s founder has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl along with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000, with a “Jane Doe” claiming she was assaulted at an after-party that followed the MTV Video Music Awards.
Given the above, there have been questions over whether the NFL will distance itself from the hip-hop mogul.
“WILL THE #NFL CUT TIES WITH JAY-Z AND ROC NATION AFTER TODAY’s ACCUSATIONS?” MLFootball asked.
“They have to,” someone replied.

Jay-Z Has Responded To Damning Civil Lawsuit
Jay-Z has denied the allegations. The 55-year-old has branded the accusations “idiotic” and claimed they are part of a larger blackmail scheme.
The statement above, released via Roc Nation’s X account, saw the rapper blast the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, also asking that a criminal complaint be filed if there’s any truth to the allegations.
