It seems like every offseason, there’s at least one story of about a running back who’s headed into NFL training camp overweight. This year, the fat running back who’s stealing headlines is Leonard Fournette.
According to recent reports, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has attracted the ire of his coaches after sitting out OTAs, only to arrive at mandatory minicamp weighing a whopping 260 pounds.
Fournette’s playing weight has typically been between 228 and 230 pounds throughout his playing career. That means Fournette is currently 30 pounds heftier than usual.
Tampa’s coaches aren’t the only ones calling out the former fourth-overall pick for being overweight. NFL fans have taken to twitter to bash Fournette. And many of them have been doing so by comparing him to another popular overweight running back from NFL history…Eddie Lacy.
Here are some of the Eddie Lacy jokes that Fournette has been hit with on Twitter, as well as some other reactions from social media.

Fournette will be 27 this season and is fresh off signing a brand new, three-year, $21-million deal this offseason with the Buccaneers, which includes $12-million guaranteed.
With no real options to cut the star running back, the Bucs’ only option is to whip him into shape over the next month-and-a-half. Good luck with that!
