When the Denver Broncos mortgaged their future to acquire Russell Wilson, everyone (us included) thought it was a brilliant move that would immediately catapult them into contender status.
Fast forward to the midway point of their week 3 contest against the San Francisco 49ers and it’s actually looking like the Broncos might have been better off just sticking with Drew Lock at quarterback (or keeping their first-round pick and drafting Kenny Pickett).
Wilson and the Broncos offense have been horrible so far this year. They’ve managed to score just 16 points in each of their first two games against the Seahawks and Texans — not exactly two formidable defenses.
Wilson himself had just two touchdowns through two games. And he didn’t have any in the first half of the Broncos’ Sunday night battle against the San Francisco 49ers.
It’s understandable that Wilson would need some time to get comfortable with his new team, but patience is growing thin. Broncos fans are already booing him, and now social media is letting him have it.
The latest trend has people posting disgusting meals with the caption, “Let Russ Cook,” and I, for one, am all for it.
