Every offseason, we hear reports of several players adding significant muscle, which translates to an increase in weight. However, this year, the Bears’ newly acquired wide receiver, Keenan Allen, has done the opposite.
There are reports that Allen gained 20 pounds since the end of last season, bringing his weight to over 230.
This could be a huge blow to Allen’s production on the field, considering he’s always been a quick and nimble player who could have trouble carrying the extra weight.
It’s something NFL fans are already making jokes about.

“Keenan learned about deep dish. The season is cooked,” someone said
“Bro’s been missing those Baja Fish Tacos over here on the beach and been eating too many Deep Dish Pizzas over there in Chicago,” said one commenter.
“If I had to guess he discovered the wonderous delight that is the Italian beef sandwich! Double dipped no less! Yum!” said another about Allen.
“Not drafting him in fantasy now bro turned into Kelvin Benjamin,” added a third.
This could be a huge blow for the Chicago Bears after they just traded for him, giving up a 2024 fourth-round pick to get him.
Keenan Allen Could Become Third Wide Receiver Option
The Bears have completely rebuilt their wide receiver room after trading for Allen and drafting Rome Odunze with the No. 9 pick.
However, Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, could see himself sliding down to third in the wide receiver depth chart by the end of the season.
He had one of his best seasons last season, recording 1,243 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, but he’s now entering his age-32 season, and his production could take a serious dip.
