On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns upset the Baltimore Ravens, winning 29-24. However, it wasn’t all happy, as Browns cornerback Denzel Ward suffered his sixth concussion since 2018.
Of course, that’s an insane amount of serious head injuries, and many fans are now praying for the defensive back’s healthy and speedy recovery. Some have even said Ward should consider retirement.
“Tough to see Denzel Ward heading to the locker room. Hoping it’s nothing serious and he’ll be okay,” said one comment.
“Amazing player but he might have to hang up the cleats, not worth his long term health,” said another.

“God this is getting bad. Concussion after concussion for him it’s really bad. If he hangs it up we cannot be mad at him,” added a third.
“Hope Denzel Ward is ok,” continued a fourth.
Denzel Ward Still Has A Lot Of Years Under Contract Left
If Ward does consider retirement, it would have been a huge blow to him and the Browns.
A few years ago, he signed a five-year $100 million contract, making him the highest-paid cornerback at the time.
He is not set to become a free agent until 2028.
