Football fans are making a comparison to U.S. President Joe Biden and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones following the latter’s strange press conference on Thursday.
Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy spoke to reporters during training camp in Oxnard, California on Thursday. Jones made several odd statements during the presser that prompted fans to compare him to Joe Biden.
For example, Jones tried explaining what his idea of “all-in” means without actually giving much of an explanation. The Cowboys owner has faced immense criticism this offseason for failing to deliver on his promise of going “all-in” this offseason:
“I’m all-in. I’m all-in. Sometimes, being all-in means you narrow…you narrow it down to all we’re talking about is right now and the next playoff season. And that’s it for everybody, we’re all-in. We’re all-in. It’s all right there.”
Jerry Jones then bizarrely compared himself to Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes:
“We’re buying time. We’re an option quarterback and then we’re going on out towards the sideline. We haven’t handed it off, we haven’t pitched it. We’re trying to make our mind up of what to do, does that sound like (Patrick) Mahomes to you? A little bit? Okay.”

Jones’ odd presser led to a plethora of football fans comparing him to Biden, who announced on Sunday that he’s withdrawing from the 2024 presidential election:
Not only has Jones failed to make a blockbuster trade or big splash in free agency, but he has yet to extend quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb or linebacker Micah Parsons.
Prescott and Lamb are entering the final year of their contracts, and Parsons is eligible for an extension after finishing the third year of his rookie deal. The longer Jerry Jones waits to extend Parsons, the higher the cost of retaining him will be.
Jerry Jones Can Still Make A Move (Or Two)
The good news for Dallas Cowboys fans is that the regular season is still over a month away, so there is time for the controversial owner to show that he’s willing to go “all-in.”
The Cowboys have lost several impact players from last year, including Tyron Smith, Tyler Biadasz, Tony Pollard, Stephon Gilmore, Dorance Armstrong Jr. and Dante Fowler Jr. If Jerry actually wants to win a Super Bowl, he better start signing some notable remaining free agents to fill up the remaining roster weaknesses.
And a blockbuster trade or two (another weapon for Dak), wouldn’t hurt in the slightest.
