We have some free agency drama, folks!
Earlier today it was reported that defensive end Randy Gregory was set to sign a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The contract was said to be worth $70-million over five years, with $28-million guaranteed. The deal was reported by several major outlets, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter, among others.
As you can see, Schefter’s tweet was time-stamped at 10:38 am. Less than two hours later, the 2022 free agency experienced it’s first real bit of drama, as a new report came out saying Gregory’s deal with the Cowboys had fallen apart. He was now headed to Denver, to become the newest member of the Broncos.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided further details, saying the Cowboys insisted on certain language in the contract to protect themselves, which Gregory apparently didn’t appreciate. And just like that, the deal fell apart and Gregroy will be headed elsewhere for the 2022 season.
