Most people think the NFL season isn’t truly here until the first touchdown is scored, but for Panthers fans, it’s when they get bad news regarding Christian McCaffrey.
Injuries have plagued the Carolina Panthers’ running back for years now, and it’s already started before the season.
McCaffrey was added to Carolina’s injury report on Thursday. The good news is this current problem McCaffrey is dealing with is extremely minor. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told reporters that a cleat cut McCaffrey’s shin.
This news probably brought back bad memories for Panthers fans and anyone who has had McCaffrey on their fantasy football team the last two seasons.
Even still, fans still got upset at the news.

Carolina opted to restructure McCaffrey’s deal last March. He’s set to make base salaries of $8.4 million and $11.8 million the next two seasons.
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told reporters that McCaffrey was “fine.”
In 2021, McCaffrey appeared in seven games for the Panthers and rushed 99 times for 442 yards and one touchdown. He also added 37 receptions on 41 targets for 343 yards and another score.
