Everyone has tipped the same team to trade for wide receiver Romeo Doubs following a suspension by the Green Bay Packers.
The NFC side issued the wideout a one-game ban for “conduct detrimental to the team” after he skipped two days of practice and meetings earlier this week.
The Packers initially attributed Doubs’ now-show to personal reasons, but Sports Illustrated subsequently reported that he purposely absented himself because he was unhappy with his involvement in the team’s passing offense.
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said in a statement on Saturday.
“His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”

“This Romeo Doubs stuff is 100% the genius work of Brett Veach and the Kansas City Chiefs,” a fan tweeted. “1. ‘Romeo, sit out for a couple of weeks, then demand a trade. You’ll become a household name in KC, get a ring, and then strike a nice, long-term deal.’ 2. #Chiefs trade a 5th for Doubs.”
“I wonder if the Chiefs have made any inquiries about Romeo Doubs availability via trade. Just an observation,” another said.
“I hope it doesn’t happen, but Romeo Doubs would be a great replacement for Rashee Rice if he’s traded,” someone else pointed out.
“#Chiefs acquiring WR Romeo Doubs from the #Packers would not surprise me,” a fan noted. “Something to watch over the next month.”
“The Chiefs might trade for Romeo Doubs,” a user suggested.
“IF the packers decide to trade Romeo Doubs, that would be a pretty reasonable target for the Chiefs. Much more so than Davante Adams 😂,” someone else claimed.
The Chiefs would do well to sign another receiver after losing Rashee Rice, potentially for the rest of the season. So they could be a team to watch if the Packers decide to trade Doubs. On the other hand, they have proven they can make it work with just about any offense over the years.
