The NFL is still faced with a dilemma in the wake of Damar Hamlin’s life-threatening injury during the outing between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.
The incident occurred in the first quarter of the contest, which was subsequently called off. While Damar keeps improving, the league has been scrambling to come up with a scheduling plan that works for everyone.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the league is considering some drastic options.
Appearing on First Take on Thursday morning, the insider said he doesn’t believe the NFL will have a replay of the MNF fixture and could give the No.1 seed the option of either having a first-round bye or home-field advantage in the playoffs.
In such a case, the No.2 seed would automatically pick up the unchosen option.

Schefter also noted that the league could go the way of a “more viable and more discussed” option of having the AFC Championship game played out at a neutral venue if teams affected by the postponement are involved.
