A prospective wide receiver harboring hopes of getting drafted at the end of the month is reported to have been involved in a multi-car crash this past weekend which necessitated multiple surgeries.
Michael Jefferson, who last played for Louisiana-Lafayette, will have to prioritize getting back healthy before he can return to dreaming about football as he is in no state to get drafted now.
The above is according to the player’s agent, Jon Perzley, who revealed the collision took place in Mobile, Alabama on Friday.
Jefferson played three seasons at Alabama State before transferring to Louisiana for his last two college terms. He ended the most recent campaign with 810 yards off 51 catches and scored seven touchdowns, which earned him an invite to the Shrine Bowl.
The WR was also invited to the NFL Scouting Combine this year and, per Adam Schefter, was considered a mid-round draft pick.
Jefferson was recruited from Murphy High School in Mobile as part of the 2018 class but wasn’t ranked by ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, or On3.
