On Saturday, the NFL officially postponed the Pittsburgh Steelers-Buffalo Bills Super Wild Card Weekend game to Monday because of concerns about a winter storm.
The game was initially scheduled to go at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, but the league moved it to 1:30 p.m. EST on Monday instead. But in an update, Tim Graham of The Athletic reports that the option to even relocate it to Tuesday is a possibility:
“Tuesday is still a potential option to play this game, according to one league and one government source.
The Bills said the decision to postpone the game was made in consultation with the Steelers and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul “in the best interest of public safety.” Hochul said she also discussed the “dangerous conditions in Buffalo” with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.”
As Graham noted, the New York Rangers are scheduled to host the Seattle Kraken at Madison Square Garden at 7:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday. If the NHL were to reschedule that game, both clubs would have to agree to the time change, Graham added.
At this time, there are doubleheaders scheduled on three straight days for Super Wild Card Weekend. The Cleveland Browns-Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins-Kansas City Chiefs will play on Saturday, with the Green Bay Packers-Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams-Detroit Lions games set for Sunday.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the other Monday night scheduled game at 8:00 p.m. EST.
