Fans are blasting the NFL for its decision to tell a potential first-round pick not to attend the NFL Draft to avoid what could be an awkward moment.
Quentin Johnson, a wide receiver who starred for the TCU Horned Frogs in 2022, has had his invitation withheld by the league as it’s thought that he could slide out of the first round.
Johnson helped TCU reach its first College Football Playoff, and then the national championship game, making 60 receptions for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns.
He had a particularly impressive outing against Michigan in the semis, scoring a TD and logging 163 receiving yards, having registered 139 yards in the Big XII Championship Game.
It appears the NFL fears he could slip into the second round and, as a result, has kept his invitation. Fans aren’t having any of that, however.

The NFL has opted to only invite players they reckon will be called in the first round as they hope to avoid situations where players wait around with family and friends only to not be called.
