After his playing career, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will join the NFL broadcasting booth.
Earlier this offseason, Brady and FOX Sports agreed to a massive 10-year deal worth $375 million. Brady will join the network’s top commentary team of play-by-play voice Kevin Burkhardt and reporter Erin Andrews.
Former Carolina Panthers star tight end Greg Olsen serves as the analyst alongside Burkhardt. This just might be Olsen’s final season on FOX’s top commentary team, depending on if Brady retires or not.
During an appearance on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast (h/t Awful Announcing), Burkhardt shared the hilarious warning that Olsen gave to the seven-time Super Bowl champion about the career of an NFL analyst:
“I can tell you one thing, some of the other stuff I’ll leave with us,” Burkhardt told Traina. “We’re just shooting the shit at first, like you usually do before you actually start these meetings. Greg said, ‘Tom, I gotta tell ya, this TV thing sucks.’ It was great, we were dying laughing. It was fun, we had a good back and forth.”
Brady is in the final season of his contract with the Buccaneers, and then he’ll be eligible to enter free agency. The 45-year-old hasn’t yet announced if he plans to play beyond this season.

The future Hall of Famer announced his retirement from football a week after the Bucs lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. Just 40 days later, however, Brady announced through social media that he was coming back for a 23rd season.
Brady and the Buccaneers dropped four of five games following a promising 2-0 start, but they rebounded with wins over the defending champion Rams and the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks in Weeks 9 and 10, respectively. Tampa Bay will try to improve to 6-5 on the season when they visit the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.
The ageless wonder has completed 66 percent of his pass attempts for 2,805 yards and 12 touchdowns against two interceptions in 2022.
As part of the broadcast rotation, FOX Sports will air Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 12 at State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Burkhardt, Olsen and Andrews will be on the call for that game.
