Only five NFL teams have lost every single regular-season game since 1944, but there are always odds on who’s going to complete the undesirable feat every season.
The Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Colts, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns are the only teams to have ended campaigns with zero being that first number marking regular-season record, with the Browns doing so as recently as 2017.
Of course, the goal going into every season is to win every game, but that’s unlikely to happen given the level of competition in the NFL. Losing every game is never the aim, but it does happen every now and then – and, where next term is concerned, odds are now out on the favorite to finish the season 0-17.
Popular sportsbook DraftKings have released the above and, if they are to be considered, the Arizona Cardinals should be worried as they’re the favorites to register a winless campaign in 2023, with the bookmaker listing them at +1600 on the back of DeAndre Hopkins’ release.
The Houston Texans made some big draft moves, selecting C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr., yet they’re right in behind, though the odds are significantly wider at +4000. The Indianapolis Colts, who are also likely to start a rookie quarterback, having picked Anthony Richardson, are also +4000 to go 0-17.
The Washington Commanders are set for a transition year with new ownership in town. And, despite bringing in Eric Bieniemy as their offensive coordinator, make the top five at +5000, with the Bucs also +5000 following Tom Brady’s retirement.
