Everyone in the NFL assumes the Dallas Cowboys will re-sign Dak Prescott after his 2020 season was ended via injury.
However, the folks over at Pro Football Focus aren’t sold on that being a foregone conclusion.
An analyst for Pro Football Focus brought up an interesting hypothetical involving Prescott and their high draft pick. As of right now, the team is projected to have the fourth pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The potential trade involves Dak Prescott and the No. 4 overall pick going to the Jets in exchange for the first pick. The Jets are currently in the driver’s seat to get that pick.
The Cowboys would then use that pick on Trevor Lawrence, who is considered the best quarterback is quite some time.
As you know, nothing is guaranteed in life, so Lawrence being a better pro than Dak is not guaranteed. However, the team would be in a lot better financial situation with the Clemson product at quarterback.
