For yet another offseason, we have a ton of speculation surrounding Aaron Rodgers and what might happen with his career going forward.
All options are on the table for quarterback Aaron Rodgers after the Packers’ season came to end with a 20-16 loss to the Lions last weekend. The future Hall of Famer could retire, be dealt or stay put.
In a feature for The Ringer, NFL analyst Danny Heifertz made the case for the New York Jets to trade for Rodgers. He stated the Jets could offer Rodgers a fresh start and would simultaneously solve the Jets’ QB problem.
Rodgers leaving Green Bay would pave the way for Jordan Love to finally get handed the keys to the franchise.
Via The Ringer:
“A survey of the NFL landscape reveals that perhaps the best trade partner on the market would be the New York Jets. A Rodgers-to–New York deal would be a full-circle story arc after the Jets traded for Brett Favre 15 years ago, cementing Rodgers as the Packers’ starter. New York would provide a fresh start for Rodgers in the final chapter of his Hall of Fame career, solve the Jets’ massive quarterback problem, and give the Packers a chance to begin the Jordan Love era.”

The 39-year-old said during a postgame conference he was undecided about returning to Green Bay but wouldn’t have any regrets if he retired. He also indicated he wouldn’t hold the team, hostage, by dragging out this decision.
Just last offseason, Rodgers became the NFL’s first $50 million-per-year player last March once he decided he wanted to remain with the Packers rather than try to force a trade. If he comes back, he is scheduled to make $59.515 million in 2023 — $59.465 million of the $59.515 million is fully guaranteed.
Who knows? We just might see Rodgers heading to Las Vegas to reunite with Davante Adams.
Everything is on the table.
