As much as Packers fans don’t want to think about it, the franchise will one day have to move on from Aaron Rodgers as their starting QB.
NFL analyst Peter Schrager thinks the team can think about trading him now to get something worthwhile in return. He also thinks the Raiders have the assets in place to make this happen.
Schrager proposes the Raiders give up quarterback Derek Carr, wideout Henry Ruggs, defensive end Maxx Crosby and a first-round pick in 2021 and 2022 and a second-round pick in 2022 in order to get the future hall of famer.
“If you’re the Packers, do you do this trade? Enough with the will he or won’t he … Rodgers is 38,” Schrager said on “Good Morning Football” this week.
Right now, Jordan Love is in line to takeover once Rodgers is done with the team. Having a vet like Carr in place could be nice if things don’t go as planned.
Derek Carr is coming off 3-straight years of throwing over 4,000 yards with 67 touchdowns thrown to go along with 27 interceptions. However, the team hasn’t qualified for the playoffs since the 2016 season.
