Baker Mayfield wants to be traded. The Cleveland Browns would love to trade him. The only problem is finding trade partners willing to part ways with assets to get the QB. Opposing teams know Cleveland needs to trade Mayfield and aren’t lining up to give the Browns what they want.
Earlier this offseason, the Browns traded for star quarterback Deshaun Watson, which spelled the end of the Mayfield era in Cleveland.
According to a report from Matt Lombardo of FanSided, there seems to be one team in the NFC that may come calling as the NFL Draft gets near.
“The Seahawks are very much in the mix for Baker [Mayfield],” an NFL personnel executive tells FanSided, on the condition of anonymity to speak freely about another team.
According to the executive, there have been backchannel communications between several teams and the Browns regarding Mayfield as the NFL Draft approaches.”
Seattle traded franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos this offseason, which signaled that they were headed for a rebuild. With Lock and veteran Geno Smith on the roster, the Seahawks could drastically improve the QB position by trading for Mayfield.
