A blockbuster trade proposal has the Cincinnati Bengals sending superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase to an NFC heavyweight in a move that would blow up the league in 2025.
The Bengals and Ja’Marr Chase failed to agree on a new deal ahead of the 2024 season. That turned out to be a mistake by the Bengals for the notoriously budget-conscious ownership because Chase has only increased his value with a superb year.
Chase, who will enter the final year of his rookie deal in 2025, is up to 79 receptions for 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns. He needs just one more TD to set a new career high, a virtual guarantee with five games to go.
Despite excellent seasons from Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow, the Bengals are 4-8 and on the verge of suffering their first losing season since 2020. If the Bengals and Chase are far apart on contract discussions, their best bet may be to trade him.

Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has Cincinnati trading Ja’Marr Chase to the Washington Commanders for first-round picks in 2025 and 2026, a 2025 fifth and 2026 third-round selection.

Jayden Daniels’ Commanders are among the biggest surprise in the NFL with an 8-5 record, needing just one last victory to clinch their first winning season since 2016. Daniels has an explosive pass-catcher in Terry McLaurin, but adding Chase to the offense would take this group to another level.
Commanders Should Make The Move If Ja’Marr Chase Is Available
The Commanders’ new competitive window is just opening, so the offseason is a prime opportunity for GM Adam Peters to go all-in for a big-time player. By adding Chase, Washington would have the skill and depth to field football’s top offense in 2025.
