The New York Jets have made a number of quarterback moves in the last 24 hours.
The team will finally have a new starting quarterback when they take the field in Week 12. The Jets will start Tim Boyle at quarterback when they play the Miami Dolphins on Friday. Zach Wilson, who has been the starter since Aaron Rodgers ruptured his Achilles will not only be moved to the bench, but will be the No. 3.
On Tuesday, the team made another move when they promoted QB Trevor Siemian from the practice squad to the active roster.
The 31-year-old is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015 out of Northwestern.
Last season, he appeared in two games and completed 57.7 percent of his passes for 184 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Siemian was also a member of the Denver Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50.
As for Boyle, he is a career backup who is on his fourth team in five seasons. He’s appeared in 18 total games since signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
