Zach Wilson will NOT be the starting quarterback of the New York Jets in 2023. That much is for sure.
While the organization would like to at least keep him around due to his “arm talent” and see if they can develop the 23-year-old, the players on the team made it quite clear during their exit interviews that they just don’t see Wilson as the right guy to lead them into the future.
So, if not Wilson, then who?
According to Pro Football Network’s Tony Paulie, several players expressed their desire to move forward with either Mike White or another veteran quarterback. And based on reports, it appears as though the team is leaning towards the latter.
Paulie claims that sources in Las Vegas tell him the Jets have made it known that they have three quarterbacks on their radar.

Sources here in Vegas also tell PFN the Jets have said in conversations they will make a move for one of three veterans: Derek Carr, Jimmy Garappolo, or, yes — Aaron Rodgers. It is interesting that Rodgers is the only quarterback of the three who does not have a no-trade clause in his contract, though the belief is there’s a gentlemen’s agreement he’ll have a say where he’ll be sent when the Packers trade him.
There’s no denying that any of those guys would be better than Zach Wilson. But you have to think that Jets fans are hoping for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Let’s not forget, a similar situation unfolded back in 2008, when the Packers realized it was time to move on from an aging Brett Favre, so they shipped him off to the Jets in order to make room for a young Aaron Rodgers.
Could the Packers pull a similar move in 2023, and trade Rodgers to Gang Green in order to make room for Jordan Love? Don’t be surprised if it happens.
