There may be no busier team this NFL offseason than the New York Jets.
Their biggest move was obviously the signing of Aaron Rodgers, but Gang Green has also added a number of other key pieces. We’re talking guys like safety Adrian Amos, wide receivers Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Mecole Hardman, and defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson.
And while acquiring A-Rod is clearly the biggest move on their list, a close second was the move that the Jets front office just completed.
According to reports, the team has finally come to terms on a long-term extension with superstar defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
The contract is a big one for Williams, who will be getting $96-million over four years, with $66-million of that reportedly guaranteed.

Williams’ new contract is a record-breaking one, as it represents the largest total value for any interior defensive lineman. It also makes him the second-highest paid interior defensive lineman in the league right now, just behind Aaron Donald’s $25-million per season.
After being drafted with the third-overall pick in 2019, it took Williams some time to really find his game. But in 2022, he emerged as one of the top defensive players in the league under Robert Saleh’s guidance.
The former Alabama stud broke out with 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and four passes defended. His dominating performance in the trenches for the Jets in 2022 earned him his first All Pro selection of his career. And we’d be foolish to assume that there aren’t plenty more to come.
