If DeAndre Hopkins is going to get traded, it appears it won’t be to one AFC team.
If Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is traded this offseason, it’s likely not going to be to the New York Jets after one latest report on the situation.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show Thursday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Jets had not been linked to a trade for Hopkins despite striking out on Odell Beckham Jr., who decided to take his talents to the Baltimore Ravens on a deal worth up to $18 million.
“If DeAndre Hopkins is traded this offseason, it’s likely not going to be to the New York Jets,” Rapoport said.
This new update comes after Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported Wednesday that the Jets are “conditionally” interested in trading for Hopkins in an attempt to build a solid team on offense around Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be traded from the Green Bay Packers to New York this offseason.
Hopkins has been included in trade rumors since the end of the 2022 campaign, but his current contract has teams staying away. The Cardinals are open to moving him at the right price. However, they have been striking out so far.
