When your franchise hasn’t qualified for the postseason in eight years and only had a winning season once during that same time period, your fan base is not willing to play along with your jokes when you’re a joke on the field.
On Sunday, social media exploded during ‘Game of Thrones’ when Arya Stark tried to stab The Night King, but got caught by her neck mid-air, only to drop the night to her other hand and stab him to death.
Jokes flew like crazy from thousands of witty people on Twitter.
The New York Jets tried to get in on the fun on Monday, when they posted a graphic that the team signed Arya Stark as an un-drafted free agent.
They were killed in the comments.

I’m glad the Jets are spending the time and effort improving the football team and not wasting money on hiring a competent social media firm. As a fan, I’m happy we got our priorities straight. pic.twitter.com/Pw0lZ7xnpR
